PCJT SOFTWARE ENGINEER IS THE GOLD SPONSOR FOR JAVA WORLD CONGRESS 2010

Dr Ishantha Siribaddana Introduced Software Engineering Program to Sri Lanka. Promote PCJT Software Engineer Qualification A Java World Congress 2010 launched in Sri Lanka
Dr. Ishantha Siribaddana is a well-known figure in Sri Lanka's IT industry, having introduced the Software Engineering graduate qualification to the country in 2007. At that time, no state university or private institute in Sri Lanka offered a Software Engineering Graduate Qualification. Dr. Siribaddana's introduction of this program was a significant milestone in Sri Lanka's IT education and industry, as it allowed aspiring software engineers to receive a recognized and standardized qualification.

In 2010, Dr. Siribaddana organized the Java World Congress at the BMICH with the participation of delegates from 28 countries in Sri Lanka to promote Software Engineering Graduate Qualification and software solutions developed by undergraduates. This event was the largest IT event in Sri Lanka in all aspects, with over 20,000 visitors, 100 foreign delegates, and 10 influential keynote speakers from different countries. The Java World Congress focused on integrating Java technology for the sustainable development of the country. PCJT, the Professional Certificate in Java Technology, the brand name developed by him, became the Gold Sponsor of the Java World Congress 2010.

PCJT is a professional practical Java training program introduced to Sri Lanka by Java Institute in collaboration with the Chamber of Chartered Java Professionals International USA / Greece. Under the brand, PCJT offers different qualifications, including PCJT-BSD, which is the first-ever title that can be obtained by a candidate. The PCJT-BSD professional title can be obtained after developing the skill and knowledge of a candidate by following one year of dedicated studies and practicals. This title assures the experience, knowledge, and skill of a Software Engineer to work professionally in a standalone application (a business solution for a small and medium-scale business) development environment of an IT company. It also guarantees the ability of a professional to develop a business solution valued at Sri Lanka Rupees 30,000 to 500,000 (300 USD to 5000 USD) for the purpose of sale.


Under other PCJT qualifications, a candidate can acquire skill and knowledge in high-end technological areas such as Java Web Technology (J2EE), Java Mobile Technology (J2ME), Java for Robotics, Java for Intelligence Systems, and Java for embedded Micro Systems.
